Moving on at speed; highlights from September

Never one to stand still, I realised it has been months since my last post. Though if truth be told, I’d only planned to blog a year, it just took me a while to realise how fast the year was going and that the blog wasn’t just enough. So I started writing in notebooks instead. It began with a short story…two notebooks later…a short novel…and 6 months later I’m heading for a reasonable sized book with the sketchings of several more following on. A re-discovery for me of an outlet for all that imagination n’ stuff 🙂

So. I’m still no closer to finishing this book than I was when I started – it just got bigger. But I have crammed a lot into my year after all. And I took up drawing with a vengeance.

The New Stuff/my highlights since September. A brief few months of church bell ringing – (I was utterly appalling at it, had a whale of a time – eventually work got in the way). Knitted (nearly all finished) a swaledale jersey, the fridge/freezer packed in, found new places in County Clare,

and Perthshire, around Dalwhinnie. IMG_6865

Tried Blair Atholl whisky, the Glenrothes, Edradour whiskies. Explored around Dumfries and Galloway. IMG_6922Got a fridge/freezer given to me by a neighbour. Dined like a king on Deer hearts and venison straight off the moorland estates. IMG_6950Found a fairy loch by Aviemore.

An Lochan Uaine

An Lochan Uaine

Watched shooting stars lying on a frosty field, made loads of new friends, got stopped by immigration entering Manchester airport….much to the entertainment of the party I was escorting…

Fell in – and out – of love several times (sometimes with the same person), drank cocktails wearing googly eye glasses, watched Blackcocks and stalked stags…and another freezer stopped working.
